2010 Greetings from Interplay

January 17th, 2010

This is an exciting time for Interplay with the new year and the new decade! From the designing of our very own logo to the upcoming spring and summer salon concerts, we at Interplay would like to share with you all that is in store.

Before we continue, we thank those who sponsored our fall concerts and our fans who supported us with their generous donations. It is wonderful making music together.

This spring, we are looking forward to our four salon concerts which donors of the KUHF radio station received during the KUHF fall fundraising event. Our first concert will occur in March in conjunction with the Jabboury Foundation for Cancer Research, Inc. This concert will not only raise funds for Interplay, but also for KUHF and the Jabboury Foundation. There is nothing like assisting three non-profits in one listening!

We always like to hear from you, so feel free to contact us through www.interplaymoths.org or via snail mail:

Hello world!

July 9th, 2009

Welcome to Interplay, a project of the “Musicians of the Houston Symphony, Inc.”.

Formally known as MOTHS, we have decided to turn a new page in our development as a not-for-profit organization by re-branding ourselves under the project title of ‘Interplay’. The purpose of this blog is to inform our target publics of Interplay’s upcoming events, to chronicle past events, and to expand our outreach capabilities through the growth of active blog membership.

Though different in name, our purpose is still the same. We hope to establish an intimate relationship between the musicians of the Houston Symphony and the Greater Houston community in order to enrich the cultural and artistic experience for both. We will engage in reciprocal actions. We will mingle. We will ‘interplay’.

Our first salon concert under this new initiative will be hosted by Mrs. Beverly Fanarof and Dr. Gerald Fanarof on Wednesday, July 15th with a performance of Beethoven and Mendelssohn by Houston Symphony Orchestra musicians Kiju Joh (violin), Kurt Johnson (violin),Linda Goldstein (viola), and Tony Kitai (Cello). A musical occasion for all involved, it should be a spectacular event with cheese, wine, dessert, and alluring conversation included!

Do not feel amiss if our first salon concert sweeps you by, as we aspire to plan many more salon concerts within the 2009-2010 year and hope that you will host one too! For more information about salon concerts from the lovely venues and inspiring music, to the tasty food and beautiful company, please contact Linda Goldstein at Hindaada@aol.com . Thanks for your support!

Until the next post…
